Bio:
Experience When launching Stepping Stone Partners in the Spring of 1998, Sherri
Dorfman was determined to help companies build their business WITH their customers. Using the proprietary Direct Path methodology,
she helps clients view their company from their customer's perspective (“outside in view”) and uses this insight
to identify, define and prioritize revenue generating opportunities. Sherri has helped many high tech including healthcare technology companies make the right product and marketing investments.
Before starting Stepping Stone Partners, Sherri Dorfman was Vice President of Marketing at Family Education Company, where
she was responsible for devising acquisition and retention strategies for site visitors and sponsors (partners) on this online
parenting community.
Prior to Family Education Company,
Sherri worked for Epsilon, a subsidiary of American Express, where she developed and implemented database marketing programs
for Fortune 500 companies in the Financial Services, Retail, Travel and Publishing industries. Sherri's clients included
The Tribune Corporation, CheckFree and BizTravel.
Earlier
in her career, Sherri was in the Interactive Marketing Group at American Express, building their
store on the on-line services such as Prodigy and CompuServe and experimenting with interactive television. While in the Retail
Marketing group at American Express, she devised and launched programs targeting consumer and business customers of retailers.
Sherri gained extensive experience in the database-marketing
arena while at General Electric Capital Corporation. As Director of Database Marketing, Sherri led
the development of a marketing database which housed information on the private label cardholders. Sherri educated retailers,
manufacturers and cataloguers about using this information to develop targeted direct marketing acquisition, loyalty and retention
programs. She moved on to head up the Marketing Research department where she planned and ran both qualitative and quantitative research studies to understand consumer purchasing behavior
and to capture feedback on proposed marketing programs. Her clients included QVC, Disney, Home Depot and Apple Computer.
Education Sherri
has a Bachelor of Science in Marketing from University of Pennsylvania's Wharton School, and an MBA in Management Information
Systems from Drexel University.
Affiliations Over
the past 10 years, Sherri has helped the Massachusetts Technology Leadership Council (was The Mass Software Council)
by planning and running events for Marketing executives and she is on the Council's Healthcare Advisory Board. She
is a member of the Boston Product Management Association. Sherri has written many articles on customer advisory programs
for different marketing magazines and websites and has moderated panels for conferences on innovating with customers.
Five years ago, Sherri developed an intergenerational program for
Sunrise Assisted Living and manages their monthly activities with her daughter to bring elementary students and seniors together.
